10 Iron the hanging sleeve lengthways, 11⁄2in (4cm) from one long edge; there will be more fabric on one side of the fold than the other. With the narrower portion against the backing, align both raw edges of the sleeve with the raw top edge of the backing, centred side to side. Tack (baste) the raw edges. Making sure the narrower portion of the sleeve remains flat against the backing, topstitch along its folded edge to secure the lower edge of the sleeve to the backing.
11 Place the organizer front and backing right sides together, with the pockets on the front panel folded along all creases and seams so they line up with the seams of the backing. Pin together around all edges.
